Six months ago I started Knowledge Lost, though it wasn’t called that till later. I started this blog as a way to try and explain concepts and things that I had been learning. It was a real change for me; originally I didn’t have an interest in art, culture, literature and philosophy. I had an interest in writing and music; so when I started this I was lost a little, I wanted to try and make sense of what I had been learning, so the blog emerged. I combined previous blogs about my writing and what I had been reading to create this blog. I was very luck to find some readers and commenters really quickly which has helped me immensely along the way. Knowledge Lost took off really well, and I’ve managed to get well over 5,000 views (over 110 posts) in this period and readership appears to be growing. I hope this blog has been enjoyable for the readers as much as it has been for me.

I can’t recall if you mentioned this before or not, but what did get you interested in art and literature?

It all started with one book I read last year. It was called “Hey! Nietzsche! Leave them kids alone!” and it was a book that explored the links between modern rock music and the Romantic Period. I feel in love with the Romantics reading this book.
I think this book took most of last year to read, simply because I kept discovering new things and researching more and more of these concepts. I decided to read Craig Schuftan’s other book Culture Club which explores culture and art history and how it affected today’s music. I knew this would be another book that would take me a whole year to read. So I decided while I research I might as well try to explain it to myself; thus the blog and the beginning of my journey.
Congrats! Impressive stats for a new blog, too! Nice redesign, very modern-looking. Always thought-provoking, interesting topics.
I was very proud of my stats, I do this blog as a thought-provoking and knowledge building exercise for myself and I’m so happy to have all of you along for the ride.
New design was due to the fact that wordress updated and i needed something more compatible.
