It’s Tuesday again which means time for another round of Top Ten Tuesday; I like joining in on this meme because I have a set topic to work with. Top Ten Tuesday is a book blogger meme that is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week the theme is: Top Ten Characters I’d NEVER Want To Trade Places With. I thought this could be interesting, I don’t want to trade places with anyone but here are some characters I definitely wouldn’t want to trade places with (in no particular order).
- Cormac Easton from The Explorer (read the book and find out why)
- Esther Greenwood from The Bell Jar (I wouldn’t want her life)
- Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye (what a phony)
- Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (he’s a little crazy)
- Mark Watney from The Martian (no Wi-Fi)
- The new Mrs. de Winter’s from Rebecca (Mrs. Danvers is mean)
- Miles Halter from Looking for Alaska (Alaska was awesome)
- Celeste Price from Tampa (too disturbed)
- Dr. Peter Brown from Beat the Reaper (autofibulectomy)
- Galen from Dirt (messed up family, messed up life)
I could go on but I rather leave the conversation for the comment.
Mine would be Tess of the D’urbervilles.
I’ve not read it, but I’m sure I wouldn’t want to trade places
Tess of the D’urbervilles would definitely be my number one character I don’t want to be.
Number two would probably be Voldemort from Harry Potter – crappy life and also you’re evil and deserve what is coming for you.
I’m surprised Amy, I thought Voldemort would of been your kind of thing 😛
Terrible example of a Slytherin – did fairly well in school for disguising his motives, but he pushed himself into the forefront to much as an icon in the war. Definitely should have stayed behind the scenes pulling strings instead.
Also you know, I’m opposed to racism and genocide.
That is true, Snape is hotter anyway
Mega yes on Cormac
Haha, when will we see the review of The Explorer?
Soon I hope
Ha ha ha, yes, Patrick Bateman! What a crazy!
I don’t think anyone want’s to trade places with him
You had me chuckling re no Wi-Fi. It would be devastating though.
Yes Galen from Dirt is very much messed up & including his family. I didn’t think I’d find a family worse then this but you really must go and read Goat Mountain – that family is
evil.
The other character I thought I’d never want to be, or even encounter for that matter, is ‘you know who’ from Gone Girl (I can’t say the name because I might spoil the twist) – that person is a nasty piece of work.
Which one? there are a lot of nasty pieces of work in Gone Girl. I will read Goat Mountain sometime, so many books
