It’s Tuesday again which means time for another round of Top Ten Tuesday; I like joining in on this meme because I have a set topic to work with. Top Ten Tuesday is a book blogger meme that is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week the theme is: Books on Friendship. So many choices, pretty much all of John Green’s books could work here. I did try to avoid too many YA novels but here are some books on friendship worth checking out.
- 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff
- Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
- The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon
- Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
- Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
- Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King
- The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes
- Paper Towns by John Green
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
one of the first books that came to mind for this topic is Say Goodnight Gracie by Julie Reece Deaver. I read it in high school, so I don’t remember it clearly, but at the time it was one of my favourite books about friendship.
I don’t remember you talking about that book to me
I didn’t know you in high school. Shall we have a conversation about our (well, my) favourite books from highschool?
Not all of them, you have already admitted to V.C. Andrews
haha. I like this book more than VC Andrews
One of my all time favorite books that seals with male friendship, is Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Thomas Franklin.
Nice one, I forgot all about it but would of been a good one to add to this list
The Perks of Being a Wallflower really did have such a marvelous friendship, and the movie was just as good as the book. Paper Towns had a great friendship as well; I actually heard that the book was being made into a movie. Great picks!
I’m sure it will make a good movie. Still haven’t seen the TFioS movie, it doesn’t get released here till next month
I didn’t participate in this topic this week but 84 Charing Cross Road is the perfect addition to this list! Several of these I still need to check out though.
So many books, so little time
I haven’t read it for ages, but Narcissus and Goldmund by Hermann Hesse provides an older option in this category.
Nice one, I will admit that I’ve not heard of this book but I just read up on it and sounds fascinating. I’m going to have track down a copy.
